Shahjahanpur: DM and SP Inspected Ganga expressway

Preparation are in full swing for the Indian Air Force’s grand air show and exercise scheduled to be held on May 2–3, 2025, at the Ganga Expressway airstrip near village Peeru in Jalalabad Tehsil.
, District Magistrate Dharmendra Pratap Singh along with Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi inspected the venue on Wednesday and issued necessary directions to officials.

Chief Development Officer Dr. Aparajita Singh, Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Sanjay Kumar Pandey, ADM (Finance and Revenue) Arvind Kumar, City Magistrate Pravendra Kumar, and officials from the armed forces and other departments were present on the inspection.
DM instructed concerned officers to ensure timely completion of key arrangements including shelter for stray cattle, installation of CCTV cameras, seating arrangements for school children, and water sprinkling for dust control. He stated that he will visit the site again tomorrow to review the arrangements.

Due to the night landing demonstration, the Jalalabad-Katra road will be completely closed from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on May 2. Citizens are advised to use alternative routes.

This historic event will feature a spectacular aerial display by the Indian Air Force, with fighter jets such as Rafale, Mirage, and Jaguar showcasing their prowess. The show promises to be an exciting experience for the general public, school children, and special guests.

Preparations Reviewed in Earlier Meeting

Earlier, the District Magistrate had held a review meeting with officials at the camp office auditorium to assess the readiness for the air exercise. The meeting focused on seating arrangements for school students, NCC, Scouts and Guides, and public representatives, as well as parking, water tankers, mobile toilets, and cleanliness.

He emphasized that all preparations must be completed with utmost seriousness and responsibility, especially in view of the Chief Minister’s potential visit to the event.
