Shahjahanpur –Police and Smugglers Clash in Shahjahanpur Suspect and Constable Injured in Encounter
A police team conducted a raid at a house in the district following information about illegal cattle slaughter. During the raid, the police discovered parts of prohibited animals and seized tools used for slaughtering. Four people, including two women, were arrested, while several suspects managed to flee.
During the operation, police received information that some suspects were hiding in Shahbazganj. Police reached to the place, attempt to apprehend one of the suspects, Tauheed, led to a confrontation. The suspect fired at the police team, injuring Constable Saini with a bullet grazing his hand. The police responded with gunfire, injuring Tauheed in the leg. Both injuredi were hospitalized.
Additional Police Superintendent Sanjay Kumar said the police had raided the house based on the tip-off, arresting four people in connection with the cattle slaughter. During the ensuing encounter, one suspect was injured, and a constable sustained a gunshot wound. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining fugitives, Shakeel, Guddu, Nadeem, and Tausif. All five arrested individuals, including the two women, have been charged under serious criminal sections and sent to jail.
