Shahjahanpur:
A report has been lodged against a senior clerk following the disappearance of a file related to the auction of a brick kiln for non-payment of trade tax in the district. This incident has prompted the submission of documentation to the High Court on September 30.
District Magistrate Dharmendra Pratap Singh said that recovery proceedings were initiated in 1996 against a kiln owner who failed to pay the required trade tax. Despite multiple efforts by the tehsil administration, the owner did not settle the dues, leading to the auction of the kiln.
After the kiln owner filed a petition in the High Court, the court requested the complete file regarding the auction process. However, the file was not found, prompting the formation of an investigation committee led by two deputy tehsildars. A notice was also issued to Dhruv Saxena, the senior clerk at that time.
Singh further mentioned that following an inquiry by the tehsil office, a report was filed against senior clerk Priyanshu Pathak at the Kotwali police station under Section 409 of the Indian Penal Code against Dhruv Kumar Saxena, who retired in June 2021.
Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Sanjay Kumar said
a report has been registered regarding the missing file, and an investigation is underway. Appropriate action will be taken against anyone found guilty in this matter.
