Shahjahanpur, September – District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh directed officials to immediately conduct a survey of crop damage caused by heavy rain in the district during a review meeting held through video conferencing on Saturday.
A Heavy rain has been lashing the district since Thursday night and continued on Saturday. During the meeting, the DM directed all lekhpals to conduct a detailed assessment of crop damage, both plot-wise and area-wise, in their respective jurisdictions. He also instructed all Sub-Divisional Magistrates to regularly monitor the survey work and ensure that the assessment is completed within the stipulated time.

Singh directed officials to send the assessment report to the government at the earliest so that compensation could be provided to affected farmers without delay. He said no negligence would be tolerated and instructed all concerned officials to complete the task on priority.

The DM also conducted an on-the-spot inspection of crop damage in Sadar tehsil. He inspected the plot-wise extent of damage and interacted with affected farmers to ascertain the actual extent of their losses.
