Shahjahanpur: Samajwadi Party (SP) State General Secretary, MLA, former minister, and Shahjahanpur district in-charge Ata Ur Rahman on Saturday chaired a review meeting at the party’s district office in Bijlipura to assess voter list verification efforts following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.
Upon his arrival, Rahman was welcomed by SP district president and former chairman Tanveer Khan, along with party leaders and workers, who greeted him with bouquets and flower garlands.
Addressing the gathering, Rahman stressed the importance of maintaining a transparent and accurate electoral roll to strengthen democracy and ensure free and fair elections. He urged party workers, Booth Level Agents (BLAs), and booth in-charges to thoroughly verify voter lists, identify duplicate and fake entries, and coordinate with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and administrative authorities to rectify errors.
He also appealed to party workers to increase voter enrollment in support of SP candidate Haji Mohammad Danish Akhtar in the Bareilly-Moradabad Teachers’ Constituency election. Rahman expressed confidence that the Samajwadi Party-led PDA alliance would form the government in Uttar Pradesh after the next Assembly elections.
Speaking at the meeting, district president Tanveer Khan said the party is committed to raising the voice of youth and ensuring access to quality education, employment opportunities, transparency in competitive examinations, and a better future.
Former minister Awadhesh Kumar Verma alleged that farmers are facing shortages of urea, seeds, and electricity for irrigation under the present state government.
At the time Samajwadi party leaders and workers were present.
