On the occasion Uttar Pradesh’s Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Suresh Kumar Khanna distributed property ownership cards to the beneficiaries.
At the time Minister Khanna said government provide each villager with documentation and proof of ownership of their homes through a drone survey. He emphasized that this step, introduced by the Prime Minister, is a significant move by the government to ensure that people have clear rights and access to benefits through the ownership card.
The minister further explained that beneficiaries of the Swaamitva Card will be eligible for various government schemes and loans. He mentioned that as of April 24, 2023, a total of 186,569 property cards had been distributed in the district. Since then, 61,678 more property cards have been issued across 392 villages, including areas in Tehsil Kalan, Sadar, Tilhar, Jalalabad, and Puwaiya.
Minister Khanna highlighted the positive impact the scheme would have on reducing disputes and conflicts in villages. With the issuance of these property cards, rural families will now have undisputed ownership and precise measurements of their property boundaries, ensuring better security and rights.
He also explained that the Swaamitva Scheme uses drone technology to create digital maps and survey residential areas, leading to accurate and clear property ownership cards. This will help in reducing property-related disputes and encroachments, and assist in securing loans from formal banks.
Additionally, the scheme will enable better identification of both government and private land, allowing village panchayats to plan development activities more efficiently. It will also help in increasing revenue sources for the villages and facilitating quicker disaster relief efforts using the collected data.
