Azamgarh. Anjali Yadav, the daughter of Azamgarh, has created history by securing a resounding victory in the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections for the Central Council. A first-year student of the Faculty of Law, Anjali made her remarkable presence felt on campus within just one and a half months and defeated four other candidates by more than 400 votes to clinch this impressive win.
On September 18, Anjali had filed her nomination for the post of Central Council member in the DUSU elections. Having set foot in the university only on August 1, this young student quickly impressed fellow students and leaders alike with her powerful speeches and ideological vision. As a result, students across the campus, along with student leaders, united in her support.
Anjali was born in Magapur, near Bankat Bazaar, one of the most backward villages of Azamgarh. She grew up in a politically, socially, and ideologically active family background. Her grandfather, Ramkumar Yadav, who is the district president of the Rashtriya Samajik Nyay Andolan (National Social Justice Movement), is known as a thinker and pioneer of social justice. Drawing inspiration from this background, Anjali carved her own identity on social and political platforms at a very young age.
As a first-year LLB student, she has caught attention by confidently presenting her views in local conferences, seminars, and events. She also made her ideological presence felt in programs held in districts like Varanasi and Ambedkar Nagar. In addition, she was honored in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly for delivering a fluent speech in English during a government program. Anjali also received the “Best Student Award 2025” from Shibli PG College, Azamgarh. Her intellectual journey even reached Coimbatore, where she earned more than 70 awards and certificates.
