Traffic Improvement Measures Announced in Meeting with Traders’ Associations
Shahjahanpur। । District Magistrate, Dharmendra Pratap Singh, Along with Superintendent of Police, Rajesh S, held a meeting with the office-bearers of local traders’ associations at the Sadar Bazar to discuss measures to improve the city’s traffic management.
On the occasion the District Magistrate announced the implementation of a one-way traffic system in the city. He emphasized that all residents and visitors must adhere to traffic rules. The one-way traffic system will be in effect from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily. The District Magistrate also warned that illegal parking and encroachments in front of shops or on roads will result in fines. Vegetable carts will be allowed only at designated locations, and vehicles must be parked in designated parking zones.
In addition, the District Magistrate revealed plans to launch a fleet of six electric buses (e-buses) within the city. The buses will operate from Bareilly Mor, Rajghat Police Chowki, Keruganj Chauraha, Jail Road, and the Collectorate, eventually reaching the Roadways Bus Stand. He mentioned that digital screens would be installed at bus stops to display the arrival times of the buses, and buses will arrive every 10 minutes. Three buses will operate from Bareilly Mor, and three from the Roadways Bus Stand. The introduction of the e-bus service will also lead to the removal of e-rickshaws from this route.
Superintendent of Police Rajesh S. Said responsibility of all citizens to maintain smooth traffic flow and follow traffic rules for the system to function efficiently. Following the meeting, the District Magistrate conducted a late-night inspection of the city’s roads along with relevant officials to review the on-ground traffic arrangements.
At the time Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vipin Kumar Mishra, Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Sanjay Kumar Pandey, City Magistrate Praveendra Kumar, Additional Municipal Commissioner S.K. Singh were present.
