Shiksha Mitra Get Major Boost, Honorarium Raised to ₹18,000 Finance Minister distributes symbolic cheques

Shahjahanpur — In a significant move aimed at strengthening the foundational education system, the Basic Education Department has announced a substantial increase in the honorarium of approximately 1.43 lakh Education Mitras working in primary schools across the state. The monthly honorarium has been raised from ₹10,000 to ₹18,000.
To mark the occasion, a ‘Shiksha Mitra Felicitation Ceremony’ live telecast held at the auditorium of the Sugarcane Research Council in Shahjahanpur. The programme attended
Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, along with
MLA Arvind singh.
Near about 300 Education Mitras from various blocks of the district were participated in program.
Addressing the gathering via the virtual ceremony, the Chief Minister emphasized the critical role of Education Mitras in shaping young minds. He noted that parents entrust their children to schools with immense faith, placing a responsibility on educators to nurture them into responsible and capable citizens. The government, he added, has also ensured that Education Mitras are posted near their residences and are covered under a cashless healthcare scheme of up to ₹5 lakh.
On the occasion Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for the decision, describing it as a step that recognizes the dedication of educators. He underscored that teachers play a pivotal role in guiding society and called upon them to discharge their duties with sincerity and commitment. He also highlighted that instructors’ honorarium has been increased to ₹17,000, assuring that such welfare measures will continue in the future.
The Minister further stressed the importance of sensitivity in teaching, stating that empathetic educators are better equipped to deliver quality education and inspire students. He ceremonially handed over symbolic cheques reflecting the revised honorarium to selected Education Mitras.
The event also featured an exhibition by the SRG/ARP team, showcasing departmental initiatives and innovations in teaching practices. District Basic Education Officer Divya Gupta and other education department officials attended the programme.
