Shahjahanpur – Former President Ram Nath Kovind Visits Ramchandra Mission Ashram in Shahjahanpur
On Friday, former President Ram Nath Kovind visited the Ramchandra Mission Ashram in Shahjahanpur on Friday.
During his visit former president ramnath kovind said that the ashram holds a significance akin to that of a pilgrimage site.
Kovind met with meditators at the ashram and learned about its founder, Ramchandra Maharaj. He emphasized that Maharaj, also known as Babaji, was very prudent in his use of money and highlighted the importance of Babaji’s teachings for the people of Shahjahanpur.
Practitioner Suyash Sinha noted that Ramchandra Maharaj dedicated his life to advancing the mission of this meditation center. Born on April 30, 1899, in Shahjahanpur, he established the Ramchandra Mission Ashram on the bypass in 1945 and began promoting the Sahaj Marg meditation method internationally in 1972, which now has branches in 165 countries.
Ramchandra Maharaj, affectionately known as Babaji, passed away in 1983 at the age of 83. During his visit, Kovind paid tribute at Babaji’s samadhi (memorial) and spent a few minutes meditating in the practice room.
Former president visited the residence of Ramchandra Maharaj and met family members at the time Uttar Pradesh’s Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, the Madhau gopal ,district magistrate, and the police superintendent were present.
