According to reports Suresh Kumar, a resident of Chhamra Bozhi in the Khutar area, was traveling with other villagers carrying Kanwar from Farrukhabad to Gola Gokarnath for a ritual. Near the Tendwa bridge on the Khutar-Gola route, the driver stopped the tractor-trolley by the roadside. Suresh got down from the trolley and was hit by a private bus, resulting in his death on the spot. After the collision, the driver of the bus fled. The enraged Kanwar pilgrims then blocked the Khutar-Gola road.
Several police teams from different stations arrived at the scene, but the protesters refused to clear the road. They demanded the arrest of the driver and compensation for the victim’s family. The police managed to convince the protesters to lift the blockade. The roadblock had caused significant traffic congestion on both sides. The police have filed an FIR against the accused driver and deceased Bodysend to post mortem.
