Shahjahanpur | District Administration In a move to promote cultural engagement and provide quality weekend recreation for citizens, District Magistrate *Dharmendra Pratap Singh has launched a new initiative to develop Shaheed Park as a cultural hub of the district. Under the programme, a Music Evening will be organised every Saturday evening at the park.
The District Magistrate said the initiative aims to offer cultural entertainment and mental relaxation to the public, while also identifying and nurturing the district’s hidden artistic talent. He recently, along with the Municipal Commissioner, inspected Shaheed Park and issued directions to upgrade lighting, fountains and overall cleanliness to world-class standards.
Chief Development Officer Dr Aparajita Singh informed that the programme will function as an open platform for artists from various cultural disciplines. Performers specialising in vocal and instrumental music will be given an opportunity to showcase their talent before a public audience.
She further stated that selected artists will be honoured by the district administration with an honorarium of ₹2,000 along with a certificate of appreciation. Interested artists can apply by sending a one-minute video clip of their performance to WhatsApp number 6387343153. Shortlisted participants will be invited to perform at Shaheed Park on Saturday evenings.
The initiative is expected to encourage local artists and establish Shaheed Park as a distinct cultural identity of Shahjahanpur, bringing art and heritage closer to the public in a meaningful and engaging manner.
