Drug De-addiction Awareness Programme Held at Women’s Postgraduate College

Shahjahanpur – A Drug De-addiction Awareness Programme held at Ary Mahile degree College (Women’s Postgraduate College ) under the chairmanship of Principal Prof Surachana Trivedi.

During the programme, volunteers of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and college students were made aware of the harmful effects of drug addiction. Addressing the students, Prof Trivedi urged them to stay away from all forms of intoxicants and also encourage their family members and society to remain free from addiction.

She said that dependence on any addictive substance not only harms an individual’s health but also affects the family and society. She informed the students about the ill effects of substances such as gutkha and pan masala and suggested healthier alternatives like fennel seeds and cardamom.

Prof Trivedi also called upon the students to take a pledge to stay away from harmful substances and motivate others to do the same, stressing that a healthy society can be built only through collective efforts.

On the occasion, NSS Programme Officer and Assistant Professor of Sociology, Mrs Parul Yadav, administered a pledge against drug addiction and appealed to everyone to spread awareness on the issue.

Teachers, non-teaching staff, NSS volunteers and students were present at the programme.
