Lucknow – The Anti-Corruption Organisation (ACO) on Monday arrested two officials in separate bribery cases in Moradabad and Hardoi districts of Uttar Pradesh.
According to the Moradabad unit of the ACO, Bhojraj Singh, an honorary platoon commander posted at the Home Guards Commandant’s Office, was caught allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹4,000.
The arrest followed a complaint by Diwakar, a resident of Faridpur Bhedi village in Moradabad district, who alleged that the official had demanded money for assigning him official duties.
Acting on the complaint, an ACO team led by Inspector Deepa Tyagi laid a trap near the Mandi Samiti area and apprehended the accused while he was allegedly accepting the bribe.
In a separate case, the ACO arrested Krishna Kumar Sonkar, Executive Officer of Shahabad Nagar Palika Parishad in Hardoi district.
Mr. Sonkar was allegedly caught accepting a bribe of ₹2 lakh from a villager during a trap laid by the anti-corruption agency.
