Hardoi: The Tadiyawan police in Hardoi arrested two wanted accused involved in multiple buffalo theft cases following a brief encounter, officials said on Tuesday.
According to police, both suspects carried a reward of ₹25,000 each on their arrest. The police team recovered ₹22,000 in cash, a car, and illegal weapons from their possession.
The accused had allegedly been operating a gang responsible for several incidents of buffalo theft in the region. After receiving a tip-off, the police launched a search operation. When cornered, the suspects reportedly opened fire, leading to a retaliatory action by the police team.
Both men were overpowered and taken into custody. Further investigation is underway,
