Shahjahanpur, May — Final preparations have been completed for the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) grand air show scheduled to be held on May 2–3, 2025, at the Ganga Expressway airstrip near village Peeru in Jalalabad tehsil of Shahjahanpur district. Fighter jets including Rafale, Mirage, and Jaguar are set to take to the skies, with rehearsal flights expected today.

District Magistrate Dharmendra Pratap Singh and Superintendent of Police conducted an on-site inspection to review the event preparations. The fighter jet rehearsal will take place between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM.

Chief Development Officer Dr. Aparajita Singh, Additional District Magistrates Sanjay Kumar Pandey (Administration) and Arvind Kumar (Finance and Revenue), City Magistrate Pravendra Kumar, along with military and other administrative officials, were present during the inspection.

This is the first time in Shahjahanpur’s history — known as the land of martyrs — that the thunder of fighter jets will echo across its skies. The air show promises to be a thrilling and extraordinary experience for onlookers, with aircraft performing aerial maneuvers and showcasing advanced flying skills over the Jalalabad airstrip.

The Indian Air Force will feature several combat aircraft, including Rafale, Mirage, and Jaguar jets, in this historic event.

Due to the night landing segment of the show, the Katra–Jalalabad road will be completely closed to public traffic on May 2 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Authorities have urged citizens to use alternative routes during this time.
