Shahjahanpur: A police constable killed on the spot and a woman sustained serious injuries after their car rammed into a road divider on the Puwayan overbridge in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur district, police said on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Dinesh Kumar, posted at Banda police station and a native of Bhiwani in Haryana.
The accident took place in the Puwayan police station area when the speeding car collided with the divider at the beginning of the overbridge, officials said.
Kumar had come to Shahjahanpur city for some work and was returning to Banda police station when the accident occurred, they said.

 

A woman travelling in the car suffered serious injuries and was rushed for medical treatment.
Police reached the spot after receiving information, took the body into custody and sent for post-mortem examination.
