Shahjahanpur (UP):
Amid the biting cold sweeping across Shahjahanpur, Additional District Magistrate (Finance) Arvind Kumar carried out a surprise late-night inspection of night shelters to assess the condition of labourers, destitute and homeless people forced to spend nights there.
The ADM, accompanied by his wife Saumya, visited several rain baseras (night shelters) to interact with the occupants and understand their problems. Displaying a humane approach, he personally distributed blankets and assured the shelter residents of all possible assistance.
During the inspection, the ADM was seen sitting beside an elderly woman, enquiring about her health and well-being. Moved by her condition, he provided her with a blanket and also gave cash assistance for medicines, assuring her of further help if required.
The ADM (Finance) also inspected cold-protection arrangements at the railway station. Later, along with his wife, he distributed blankets to elderly persons, differently-abled individuals and the homeless at the railway station, nearby roads and near a temple.
Witnessing the simplicity and service-oriented attitude of the ADM and his wife, several elderly beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and blessed them.
