Shahjahanpur ।
In a heartwarming display of communal harmony and mutual respect, a Muslim advocate from Shahjahanpur, Mohammad Shahnawaz Khan, set an inspiring example by serving sweets and showering flowers on Kanwariyas during their annual pilgrimage.
At a time when reports of communal tension are emerging from various parts of the state, Shahjahanpur witnessed a different narrative. Advocate Shahnawaz Khan, along with his organization “Sahyoag Sanstha,” organized a grand community meal (bhandara) near Subhash Chandra Bose Chowk to welcome the Kanwariyas. Khan personally served halwa (a traditional sweet dish) to the pilgrims and showered them with flower petals as a gesture of respect and unity.
Shahnawaz, a resident of Kakra village, co-runs the Sahyoag Sanstha along with village head Anil Gupta. The organization includes people from various religious backgrounds who are dedicated to community service without any discrimination. The group engages in social welfare activities such as organizing marriages for underprivileged girls and providing free medical assistance to the needy.
The bhandara was attended by several prominent officials and community leaders, including Jail Superintendent, ADM Rashid Khan, former district president Virendra Pal Singh Yadav, and Municipal Commissioner Vipin Mishra. The event received overwhelming support from locals, government officials, and public representatives alike.
on the occasion, Shahnawaz Khan said, “My aim has always been to help people from every religion and community without any bias. When we founded this organization, the core principle was to serve humanity, and I continue to follow that path.”
