The campaign was organized under the initiative of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) as part of its Students for Development (SFD) initiative. During the drive, ABVP volunteers, along with Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Rajneesh Mishra, installed earthen bowls at various locations and filled them with water for birds.
Speaking on the occasion, the volunteers said that due to continuously rising temperatures, birds and other living creatures are struggling to find water. They added that the initiative aims not only to provide water but also to spread awareness about environmental protection and compassion towards all living beings.
People present at the event appreciated the efforts of the Vidyarthi Parishad and appealed to the public to place water containers on rooftops, balconies, and open spaces around their homes so that birds and other voiceless creatures can get relief during the scorching summer.
Additional District Magistrate Rajneesh Mishra said that keeping water for birds during intense heat is not only a noble act but also a reflection of humanity. He urged citizens to arrange water for birds by placing water-filled bowls on rooftops and around their homes.
Several office-worker’s and members of the Vidyarthi Parishad were present during the campaign.
