Shahjahanpur:Samajwadi Party’s State General Secretary Ataur Rahman, who is also the SIR in-charge for Shahjahanpur, held a meeting with party workers at the district office on Sunday. During the meeting, he reviewed the progress and functioning of the SIR (Special Electoral Revision) work and sought detailed feedback from party workers.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Rahman launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that the introduction of the SIR process is part of a conspiracy aimed at cutting votes of Dalits, backward classes, and minority communities. District President Tanveer Khan and several office-bearers welcomed him at the office.
Rahman said the SIR programme is a “well-planned strategy to curtail opposition votes.” He claimed that the primary objective behind it is to remove voters belonging to Dalit, backward, and minority communities from the electoral rolls.
He added that, under the directives of national president Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party workers across Uttar Pradesh are fully active. BLA (Booth Level Agents), booth in-charges, and block in-charges have been deployed at every booth. The entire team is working to ensure that no voter from any caste or community loses their vote.
“What happened in Bihar will not be allowed to happen in Uttar Pradesh,” Rahman said. Accusing the BJP of concealing facts and adopting new tactics before every election, the MLA expressed confidence that the Samajwadi Party will form the government in 2027 on the strength of its workers and leadership.
Rahman further stated that party workers are visiting households, helping people fill out the required forms, submitting them, and also uploading them online. Daily reports are being compiled. Reiterating his allegation, he said the BJP’s target is Dalits, backward classes, and minorities, but SP workers will ensure that not a single vote is removed.
