Student welfare will be top priority- P.B.Singh

SHAHJAHANPUR: Newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Swami Shukdevanand University, Prof Pushpendra Bahadur Singh, said student welfare would be his top priority and that the university would be developed into a leading institution at the national and international levels.
Addressing mediapersons here, Prof Singh said several structural changes would be introduced to put the university on the right track. He said admission, examination, teaching and result-related processes would be streamlined and expedited. New teaching posts would also be created as required and fresh appointments made.
The Vice-Chancellor said special emphasis would be laid on research and innovation. He added that students from nearby areas would be encouraged to pursue higher education and would be provided proper career guidance.
He said students would get the opportunity to study in their own city from the new academic session. Preparations for the Samarth portal, academic calendar and the university website are nearing completion.
Prof Singh also announced plans to adopt nearby villages to contribute to the personality development of children and make them socially responsible citizens.
He said the university aims to launch job-oriented courses, promote e-learning, sign MoUs with reputed higher educational institutions and secure a strong position in national and international academic rankings.
Earlier, Dean of the Commerce Faculty Prof Anurag Agrawal introduced the Vice-Chancellor. The programme was conducted by Dr Shishir Shukla, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Law College Principal Dr Jaishankar Ojha.
Registrar Virendra Kumar Maurya, Finance Officer Deepak Kumar Rastogi, Dr Avneesh Mishra and media representatives were present .
