Shahjahanpur: In a step towards promoting sustainable mobility and reducing carbon emissions, Swami Shukdevanand University has launched a “No-Vehicle Friday” campaign, urging students, faculty members and staff to avoid bringing personal vehicles to the campus every Friday.
The initiative, introduced under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pushpendra Bahadur Singh, aims to encourage eco-friendly commuting practices and create awareness about energy conservation.
As part of the campaign, members of the university community have been encouraged to opt for public transport, car-pooling and electric vehicles. The administration has also advised walking or cycling for short distances to promote both environmental sustainability and physical well-being.
University officials said the move is part of broader efforts to transform the campus into a cleaner and greener space while fostering a sense of environmental responsibility among students and staff.
The initiative has drawn appreciation from employees, who described it as a timely step towards ensuring a healthier and safer environment for future generations.
