A tragic incident unfolded in Shahjahanpur on Wednesday, where businessman Sachin Grover reportedly took his own life along with his wife, Shivangi, and their 4-year-old son, due to harassment from moneylenders. The deceased left behind a 12-page suicide note.
Sachin’s mother-in-law, Sandhya Mishra, has filed an FIR against three moneylenders, namely Shanky Anand, Vicky Bagga, and Devang Khanna. Sachin operated his business under the name ‘Haryana Handloom’ and had borrowed money from these three at high interest rates.
According to the FIR, the accused charged exorbitant interest and subjected Sachin and his wife to mental harassment. They allegedly threatened the couple by visiting their home and claiming they would disgrace them in front of relatives. When Sachin struggled to repay the loans, his brother Mohit also refused to assist him.
On the night of August 26, the couple is said to have poisoned their son Fateh by mixing poison in his cold drink. They subsequently hanged themselves. The police have registered a case against the three named individuals as well as unidentified people, and an investigation has commenced. Several suspects have been detained for questioning.
SP Rajesh Dwivedi confirmed that the FIR has been registered based on the complaint, naming three individuals and one unidentified suspect. Investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being made to apprehend the named accused.
