A handicrafts exhibition featuring products made by inmates of the district jail was organised at the district court premises in Shahjahanpur on Friday during the National Lok Adalat.
The exhibition was inaugurated by District Judge Vishnu Kant Sharma, who cut the ribbon at the prisoners’ stall and inspected displays showcasing various handmade items prepared by the inmates.
The exhibition featured paintings, bags, flower pots and several other decorative and utility items. Judges, advocates and visitors at the court premises appreciated the creativity and craftsmanship of the inmates.
Speaking on the occasion, District Judge Sharma said such exhibitions play an important role in the skill development and social rehabilitation of prisoners. He added that these initiatives help inmates become self-reliant and motivate them to reconnect with the mainstream of society.
